Winnie The Pooh Diaper Cake Ideas
Gift Basket With Winnie The Pooh
This let's call it boxed diaper cake - or maybe it's rather a diaper basket? - is quickly made. It is not a traditional diaper cake but a basket with rolled diapers and some Winnie The Pooh decorations. Since, with all the various things needed, it is hard to make exactly the same diaper cake. So I just give you some ideas and tips and with these you can put together your own individual cake and have your creativity sparkle.
This one here is a diaper basket for a boy but by using other colors you can also make this for a girl or a unisex one.
The basket shown here contains:
26 diapers (size 2), basket (size 10 x 10 x 6 inches / 25 x 25 x 14 cm), cuddly Winnie The Pooh bear (size 8 inches / 20 cm), baby bottle with Winnie The Pooh design, Winnie The Pooh baby onesie, Winnie The Pooh spoon and fork, Winnie The Pooh baby socks, Winnie The Pooh 'baby on board' car sign, pacifier, 3D stickers, ribbon
Make this diaper basket as small / as big as you want. Get a nice basket first, preferably one the new family can use later on. For example to store diapers, baby toys, baby utensils, etc. It does not matter, what material the basket / storage box is made of - it might be made of fabric, BPA free plastic material, bamboo or even timber. A collapsible storage box is suitable, too.
Then get some diapers to fill the basket with. In order to conveniently fix your 'other ingredients' you have to roll up the diapers. Depending on how tall your basket is, just one layer of rolled diapers might be enough. But you could also need two layers of diapers or first fill the bottom with flat laid out diapers and then put one layer of rolled diapers on top. It is important that the upper layer is rolled diapers because otherwise it will be difficult to get your other items in.
The best way to roll the diapers is to start with the open end and roll them towards the closed end. Fix one end with a small rubber band. Then stack the diapers into your basket with the rubber band side sticking to the top. Once your basket is fully stacked with diapers you can easily remove the rubber bands by just pulling them off.
That's the top view of the basket. In order to include the cuddly Winnie The Pooh and the baby bottle, I had to remove one diaper each and have squeezed Winnie The Pooh respectively the baby bottle in between. Depending on the size of the item, you need to remove a diaper or sometimes you can just squeeze the item in a possible gap. I managed to stick the baby spoon and baby fork, the pacifier, the rolled up onesie and the rolled up socks in gaps.
For the onesie flower I have folded a onesie with Winnie The Pooh appliqué just once longitudinally and then have rolled it up and have tied a ribbon around the upper part. A little pompom placed inside the top marks the middle of the flower.
For a cute sock flower, I have taken a pair of Winnie The Pooh baby socks. I have laid the socks out flat and put one on top of the other. Then I have loosely rolled them up, and fixed the roll by tying a ribbon around. A little twitch here and there will form your flower. And again, a little pompom on top decorates the middle.
As you might have noticed, I have left the Winnie The Pooh 'Baby On Board' sign in the plastic so it stays neat and clean. I have used two little cloth pegs to fix it outside the basket. If you have a plain basket, a baby name chain with wooden letters could be a nice alternative, too. Finally, to pimp up the diaper basket decoration, I have placed some Winnie The Pooh 3D stickers on some of the diapers. If you have a plain basket, place some stickers on the basket.
Winnie The Pooh Diaper Bear
The next diaper cake idea featuring our little friend, is a diaper bear. I found this cute organic Winnie The Pooh set at H&M consisting of a hat, onesie with Winnie's face printed on and some pants. I have added 45 diapers, a burp cloth and a bear rattle. I made this cake just like a regular diaper bear (without the ears) and placed the onesie over the top stack of diapers (= bear's face) and also put on the hat. The pants are rolled into the lower stack of diapers (= bear belly). The bear wears a Winnie the Pooh burp cloth and I also fixed a bear rattle, made of wood, to make the diaper gift more colorful. I really like the outcome!
Perfect as a centerpiece for a little girl's or boy's baby shower alike!

A diaper snail is a cute homemade diaper gift as well. Use Winnie The Pooh accessories and create a one-of-a-kind Winnie The Pooh themed diaper cake. I used the same Winnie The Pooh set as for the diaper bear, however, you can also buy your accessories such as a sun hat and a Winnie The Pooh baby toy to place on the snail's house separately - that's what I did for the Winnie diaper snail pictured above and the Tigger diaper snail below.
